Cloud Monitor is like having an additional employee on my team. It’s constantly monitoring and doing tasks that we don’t have time to sit there and do all day. It replaces those labor hours and then alerts us when there’s something we need to take a closer look at. I like that I don’t have to work in it every day and it doesn’t take up a lot of my time. It does a lot of the work for me and it just lets me know when it needs me
With Cloud Monitor, we were able to detect some issues that concerned us from a student safety perspective. We realized what a benefit it is to have some of these school-specialized AI algorithms that help us create a safe space for our students to learn and interact online. With Teams and Cloud Monitor, we can provide that safe space because we can monitor it. For some students, this was their only way to communicate with their friends during the lockdown, and I think that made a difference in their social and emotional health
When I first learned about Cloud Monitor I was skeptical that such an inexpensive solution would be able to secure our Google Workspace data better than Cloudlock. However, after our first week using the solution, I was more than convinced. Cloud Monitor has been one of the best technology decisions I’ve made this year
Bottom line, if you need to know what is in your Google Drive and Gmail, and who is doing what, Cloud Monitor does it wonderfully. If your school district is in the cloud and you have a one-to-one technology program, having this level of visibility and control is a huge benefit
We have GoGuardian to manage students on a browser level. But it’s not even in the same ballpark as Cloud Monitor. Cloud Monitor is the forensics tool that I use to get Google Workspace information our campus safety team needs to properly follow up with potential issues and incidents. Cloud Monitor is an invaluable tool for keeping our Google for Education environment and, to a degree, our campus a safe place for students to thrive
The addition of Cloud Monitor to our IT infrastructure allows me and my team to feel confident about protecting our students and staff when using Google Workspace. The dashboard and alerts provide me real-time info so that I can take immediate action to thwart any threats
The pandemic escalated our use of Google and Microsoft as primary core learning tools, and now we’re sustaining that use even as we’re coming back to the classroom
While we have other related products, such as GoGuardian, they are very different tools that provide very different services. Cloud Monitor provides behind-the-scenes access to Google and Microsoft 365 that allows for bulk changes, automated changes, and automated flagging that are all pieces of the bigger student safety and digital safety puzzle. It’s actually one of my favorite platforms to use
We had an incident occur when a teacher improperly shared about 100 different Drive files with their personal Google account. Before, finding all those files and breaking the sharing would have been a nightmare. With Cloud Monitor, I was able to break all the shares in about five to ten minutes. That is just one thing that I really love about it
Things like having the ability to view emails, view Drive files and break unauthorized sharing, and audit third-party app permissions all came up that hadn’t been available in other solutions we’d looked at
We are all moving into this realm of students being in cloud services like Google and Microsoft for almost all of their learning. Not having the level of visibility and control provided by Cloud Monitor is both frightening and irresponsible. Now that I know how many things we catch and are able to find that we would not have been able to before, I don’t see how we could go back to not having it
2020 was a bit of a new frontier for us. We’re doing things like investigating Gmail and Shared Drive issues more than we thought we would and more than we’d like. We’re appreciative of the tools we have, including Cloud Monitor, to help solve these new problems
Compared to the several solutions we evaluated, Cloud Monitor checked the most boxes for us in terms of the features it provides, the power we were looking for, and the fact that it operates in near real-time. We also like that Cloud Monitor is a product that is focused on education
Cloud Monitor’s Google Classroom admin features are kind of a comparison between something versus nothing. I like that Cloud Monitor is able to tie Classrooms to student accounts so you can see what classes students are in. I can also easily add myself as a co-teacher to a Classroom to help troubleshoot issues teachers and students are having
Support is huge in this industry, and these days it seems like a dying art. ManagedMethods has a commitment to quality support and we actually like reaching out to their people. That is worth a lot
Cloud Monitor’s cybersecurity and safety solution provided us a level of visibility we needed to ensure the security and safety of our students and staff. The platform was quick to deploy and gave us immediate insights
But at the district level, there’s only three of us managing cybersecurity among other duties
Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 security tools will show you some analytics, but you really don’t have the ability to take action on it quickly. Cloud Monitor allows me to see every aspect of what is going on in my cloud domains, then it lets me take action
So, after coming to Azusa and realizing we needed more protection, I decided to find something that would allow me to mitigate cloud threats in one application
Using Cloud Monitor, we quickly started seeing fewer phishing emails as it became easier for us to properly track who was sending out that email. More importantly, it allowed our staff and students to know that illegitimate emails weren’t getting through
You don’t know what you don’t know. Unless you have the budget to hire somebody to monitor your environment 24/7, you need a solution like Cloud Monitor by ManagedMethods to help you do it
Cloud Monitor enhances our set of tools and fits very nicely into our multi-layered cybersecurity and safety approach. It allows us to gain better visibility into the content of data stored in our Google environment. But, more importantly, it allows us to automate some of the remediation and take the workload off of my staff
We struggled with Google Chat at first. When we went remote during the pandemic, we wanted our students to be able to continue to engage with each other. We figured that if we could support that with a degree of supervision, we could provide a safe environment for them to interact with their friends and peers
Ignorance can’t be a security policy. I’d love to see more school divisions get on board with tools like Cloud Monitor. What we’re paying, compared to other products in our stack, is significantly less. When you consider that the cost of a security breach can be five, ten, even 20 times the cost of the tools you need to protect your schools, it’s almost invaluable to have this type of insight
The great part about Cloud Monitor is that it ties directly into Google using APIs. This means that no data is traveling through the platform and back again, so we don’t have to worry about data use compliance
The return on investment is huge. Most districts, ourselves included, don’t have an enormous budget. What I love about Cloud Monitor is that not only is it affordable, but you get so much with it. You can really do a lot
As part of our goal and vision, I feel it’s important to expose our students to the best of both worlds — Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
One of the interesting things I learned using Cloud Monitor is the amount of attempted logins we have from all over the world, which was just eye-opening to see. Just yesterday we were looking at some logs. We were under attack from Paraguay, Ecuador, Japan, and other countries
Cloud Monitor is another cog in the wheel alongside network firewalls and filtering
I think of the kids in the YCEP program as students first, but I also need to deal with the reality that they’re in a restricted environment. We would be failing as educators if we didn’t make sure that the technology penalty for these kids is as low as possible. With Cloud Monitor and other tools, we can make education equity in youth corrections facilities as balanced as possible while making sure that students and the community are safe
On top of having a platform that actually works and is reliable, the ManagedMethods team is also a joy to work with. They’re very organized and responsive. They were also open to learning more to understand our unique needs
I’m a one-man team and Cloud Monitor is essential to keeping my district secure and our students safe. It doesn’t need a lot of changing or maintenance and it doesn’t take up a ton of my time. Onboarding took about ten minutes and the customer service is exceptional. Cloud Monitor just works – it’s very simple
ManagedMethdos caught risky communications being made between students through email that none of our other filters caught. It could have been a much worse situation, and I know our leadership team and our board were very glad that we have Cloud Monitor when the situation came to light
Google Workspace has its own scanning system. But it runs in the background and it’s not reported very well. We couldn’t see our overall status and we couldn’t see what was happening. We definitely couldn’t see any attacks coming in or how our users were acting online
Cloud Monitor caught a dozen phishing attempts and disabled a couple of accounts that had logged in from overseas just this morning. I’m grateful that I have Cloud Monitor to catch and remediate these attacks quickly. The Login Analyzer is particularly helpful because we’re able to see where logins are coming from. There’s no way our small team could stay on top of it all while also supporting our students, faculty, and staff
And the support is great. Any time there is a question or an issue, they’re right there and it’s taken care of quickly
Purchasing Cloud Monitor is one of the best decisions we’ve made and I would recommend it to other IT teams in K-12. It’s definitely worth the investment and, when it comes to protecting our data and users in Google Workspace, Cloud Monitor is the best cloud security solution that we’ve found
